can't seem to sample licensed music..

sup kruu,

my problem is i cannot open licensed files i have downloaded legally on nokia music.

i can play them on the program 'nokia music' but i DO NOT want to sample via my laptops outs.. coz they are noizy as shiit even with the power cord removed!(hp Compaq nw8240 w/dock)

i got a free nokia 5800 express music phone with ONE YEARS free music downloads(couldn't get the iphone ), sort of like itunes except it's a really slow DL & program.

as i'm typing this i realise i can sample straight from the phone itself coz it has a line jack, but i don't have the phones usb cable on me and bluetooth on my laptop is screwed + don't have a sd>SD adapter handy..

i've googled & searched heavily for software etc to access these *.WMA files but no luck as yet.

it's is really frustrating having this huge bank of music which i will not be able to use outside a nokia platform. no serato/torq or itunes use!!

i just wanto convert & open the files in cubase or something to cut parts i want to use at my second spot using an xl/tech12/mixer/laptop where i have little records.

does anybody have a solution?









the phone itself is really slow and buggy btw, and i can't even assign one of the licensed songs to a ringtone.. WTF!!

I don't have experience with Microsuck's encrypted files, but I do have experience with Apple's. Basically, if you can get your computer authorized to play those files as well (usually from the vendor you purchased them from), you can burn them to CD or just hijack the audio with a recording program.

If that's not an option then you need to decrypt the file. This was more of an issue when every iTunes song was copy protected, but it can still come in handy -- especially if you had like 1000 copy protected tracks like me.

How easy or difficult it is to break WMA copy protection I don't know, but Apple's DRM was cracked more than once so I assume someone has experimented with cracking WMAs.

Googling "remove wma protection" brought up this:

So I'm sure it's been done; especially when a company is as hated as MS is.

yeh the program looks like you can burn cd's from it, but have not tried coz i got no blanks at this spot thanks for reminding me.

ima check that site out asap and post back if i find an answer to decrypting wma's..

got it to work
with the help of that link to tunebite.
i er uh paid for the full copy coz the demo only allows 60 seconds which is the similar to a program i already had.
pretty dope program, converts files in realtime, lots of options/formats.

stick to vinyl you can sample all you want no block there inless you get caught but i doubt you'll move as many piece as the can see you on the charts

don't worry homie i am very much stuck on vinyl, lol. this is just to feed the habit while i'm not in my main spot with my stacks of wax. i should have brought more with me, i thought id find some gold but came out fairly empty. i usually get bulk crates from old widows from swap meets for 20 -50 dollars most the time. and start from one side to the other, making beats along the way... back to it!
