Digging success stories

Man I just have to tell. A record store I go to "Love Garden Sounds"(Lawrence Kansas) was moving down the street so they have been selling their other records cheap. Their first sale was 50% off of certain records (Grabbed all the Weather Report albums I Could find)
Well success was great this week, everything was a dollar no matter what. Grabbed like 40 records. I shoulda bought more. Well I landed upon a bunch of 80's drums and other sick samples. Got a bunch more Bob James & Hubert Laws. Some other sick phat P-funk records, R.J.'s, Barkays, Blondie, Kiss "live". Some underground punk records ive never heard of but got some nice grimey drums to sample. More hip-hop DMX, UTFO, Eric B & Rakim. Seriously one of the best diggs ive had, that and everything being a dollar no matter what it was, was EPIC!

Yo. I'm on holiday and am being very rude posting this in the middle of a conversation, but my best dig was Ian Cameron's Marching Up And Down Band...a 70s thing with a big band brass group with 2 drummers playing a mixture of old time
brass band songs and 'popular beat'. This record cost me 25p and side A has 9 f*cking breaks on it! Same place has provided countless film scores, tubular bells, Elton john records etc. Prob round here is that there is not a lot of black music to be dug in aberdeen, it's a city of White folks.

However I'm in Berlin...day one mahf*ckers. I have barely visited one record shop and have picked up a weird MF Doom remix album with beats from instrumental tracks from some guy called Clutchy Hopkins, and a 45 by a funk band called Shaolin Temple Defenders, with some random dub cut on the flip. I f*cking love this place!

Clutchy Hopkins is a mysterious man. No-one really buys the mysterious back story, the most educated guess is that it's Cut Chemist. Get the first LP if you can, some awesome beats on it.

Yea picked up 83 records from all amounts of genres. Was insane... Got some madd dope samples.

Wow! I'm surprised that people in Kansas are even diggin'.

Yea the media plays us as a bunch of sunflower wizard of oz farmer type people. Not that it matters but Topeka Kansas had one of the higher murder per capita in the nation at one point... That makes me hard right?

No one knows whose Clutchy, but if you compare his catalog with Shawn Lee's, you begin to wonder.
