wsup y'all!!
i been up on this for a while but i thought i'd share for those who are in the dark..
one has a dvd player with FL, FR, RL, RR, Center etc outputs on the back.. a gold diggin mine for samples right there. reason being because on dvd's the music is mostly in the rear of the dvd, so sampling of the RR, RL outs cancels out most of the dialog to some extent..
i do not have a dvd player like this atm, but i have tried it before and it works very well.. reason i'm posting because im getting angry at myself for downloading all these dvdrips.. alot of dvd rips which are unusable due to there 128kbs mp3 quality.. but i do pay credit where the credit is due and buy/rent dvd's that are worth it from a samplers point of view.. i just cannot justify sampling from an mp3. hell, i used to do it when i first got my 2500, but that was before i had trained my ear to the next level.
as for the dvdrips, dialog is great, and very usable, but anything musical i just can;t bring myself to do it. i have a notes and notes stacks high of samples i can chop the fuuk up in crazy ways but just cannot justify it untill i cop a cd quality format atleast...
atleast it makes me know i'm human and not apart of this mp3 culture.. anyone else feel this way or are up on the dvd rear outs..?
also anybody know of a program that can dissect the channels from a dvd>mac?
Pce!
