how much would you pay

I have ~1000 45's. The time span covers the 60's to the late 80's. There is a huge selection of soul, r&b, blues, some disco, some pop etc. They are for the most part in good condition.

Artists include:

James Brown (lots of JB)
Bobby Bland
Marvin Gaye
Stevie Wonder
Ray Charles
Minnie Ripperton
The Temptations
Barry White
Lou Rawls
The Dells
Sam and Dave
Eddie Kendricks
Otis Redding
Jimmy Smith (I think)
and many more

How much would you pay or how much do you think they are all worth?

It would depend on the rarity and condition of the individual records. To get a fair price, you're going to have to catalogue them all and sell them separately. For 1000 uncatalogued 45's of unknown quality I wouldn't want to pay more than $300-$400.

Yeah, I wouldnt pay more than a few hundred, I would set my cap at 300, butt im broke anyway.

in my local classifieds 'the quokka' there was an ad for 4500 - 5000 45s from 60s-80s for $6000 willing to seperate, lastweek.. if thats any help to you as an example.
works out to be around AU$1.25 per single.. i got to get on that boat soon. but i know it would consume me though if i did go there.

yea I've been meaning to catalog them but I've been really busy lately. I have some free time over the weekend though so maybe I'll get it done.

I collect 45's.

Some of the BEST shiz iz on those, cause they were intended for radio play and sometimes thats how they would judge the artist- on the sales/amount of radio play of the single. If the single did well the artist got an album.

and for Reggae fans... thats the only way it came back in the day- 45's. Man I love me some roots reggae on the 45 plates.

If your thinkin of unloading some I'd be down.

I think there's pretty standard stuff in there. Not much, if any, reggae to speak of. I'm gonna go through them all this weekend and catalog all that's there. If you're interested shoot me a pm with your email and I'll send you the list when I'm done.

Most here are dollar bin/thrift store/charity shop cats to be honest. I don't pay more than £25 for records LOL. You'd be better of somewhere like Soulstrut.
