From reading past cosmic pimp posts/threads, he aint really gay, he was just messing around
being funny, lol.
It's also not hard to search out drums, I don't support non-proactivity/non-self help at all.
I don't support hand-holding.
tl;dr? people should be able to help others.
Im usually quite good at dealing with anger, but today i failed. Thank you for not locking this thread immediately*, replying and allowing me to reply.
I am a little confused by your response, you seem to be implying that 'Dr. Nibbert' and 'The Cosmic pimp' are one and the same, If this is the case then i have no argument.
I am familiar with the work of 'the cosmic pimp' and am not going to argue on his behalf.
Now to get back on track, the post from where all this comes from goes like this (for the sake of keeping all the information in one post) ...
"I'm looking for samples of ethnic drums like tablas or shaman-drums, anybody know some sample libraries or records to sample from?"
the response from 'dirty rum' was "free ethnic drum samples + Google."
you quoted this and locked the thread (@ 'coz', this is my example of 'supports snide posters' - which, considering my post history - i really shouldn't have brought into this 'argument').
The response "free ethnic drum samples + Google." assumes that the OP wants free WAV files from an internet resource, and not details of records as requested.
My opinion, is that in a crate diggers forum if someone prompts a discussion on a certain type of percussion and the sources of it, people should be allowed to respond to that thread. If no-one wants to give away their sample sources, the thread will be ignored, or flamed - but locked? Isnt that a little bit harsh?
Regarding not supporting "non-proactivity/non-self help at all" thats fine, and not many people have the time to breast-feed noobs anyway, which is perhaps why these forums are so quiet and slow.
but when you say "I don't support hand-holding." it sounds like your saying that you dont appreciate people trying to help out, which, on a forum which acts as support for akai's product - just feels a little out of place, and unfair.
having written all of this and not really made a very good job of getting my point across, I regret getting involved in this at all.
* For the record, I certainly have no problem with this thread being locked.
