amazing 45 spacers

my friend started making these 45 spacers
best I've ever seen.
helping him get them out there.
check them out and let me know what you think.

i think theyre a wee bit expensive.....r they 24 ct gold or wha?

no they are heavy duty brass.
and are basically hand made.
not a huge margin in them.
what do you think they are worth?
290 grams of 24 ct gold would be balling!!! but very expensive.

Why would someone want to put that much weight on a turntable?

as a machinist I love em. But man - $$ ! Maybe if I could get 1 for $20usd.

on the cost, keep in mind just for a replacement of the stock standard Technics spacer (which have no flavor) your looking at about $40.00 plus shipping on most sites.
I spoke to him this morning and it would be cheaper in aluminum but that doesn't tickle my fancy.

Much??? There are weight types of vinyl records (12"). The thinnest has 80 grams then there is a 120g, I think 140 and the thickest has 180g and is known for really good pressing quality (not recommended for a scratch tool vinyl thou )

So the 145g of this spacer plus the weight of the 45 vinyl is not to much for a turntable. Some people also use some extra weight to stabilize the record and/or avoid rumble if the record is a bit warped.
Search for "Thorens Stabilizer" and you know what I mean.

Also I spoke to my mate who made them and we discussed making a aluminum version that would bring the cost down.

IMHO, they do look nice, but unless I lose the spacer that came with my 1200s, why do I need another one?

Maybe if I had one of Sonseelye's rebuilt, repainted decks I'd want a bling spacer too, but otherwise ... meh
