-Nice vintage store i go to called the vortex-
Me: (approching the counter with at least 12 records, 4 of which were rare finds) I got just these 12
Clerk: (who was covering for the regular guy on break) 12 records? ( as he skims through as if he knows who the artist are)
Me: Yeah, How much
Clerk: gimme 20 bucks

Needless to say, I was there like clockwork at the same time for about a week, till someone trained him how to charge correctly

us, "come on man come down a few dollars for us look how many records we just got, we need to eat."

Dave from noise noise noise (rip) "Why"

us, "why?"

Dave - "Why do you need to eat?" pause ... "put it this way, you could go to 711 and get a chili dogg and shit it out in an hour or you could have these records for ever."

I have endless stories about this spot, lol thinking back. He was dead serious.

We bought the records.

I was digging at one of my local spots and on top of the crates they got shelves with records stacked like books so u can only see the spine of the cover

I notice this one in japanese.....its kinda light colored so i'm thinking it might be the japanese version of Hair
I get on a stool grab it and sure enough it is....no price tag though

I take it to the counter with another 5 records or so and ask the clerk how much for the Hair record.
He laughs and asks if I really want it, and tells me $1.

Lucky for me he wasn't a Large Pro fan.

Not a store clerk, but I hit a flea market last weekend and I had two different dealers tell me:

"If it's not Elvis or the Beatles, it's 25 cents"

I agree with this sentiment of not carrying the conversation further. I tried my best to not be that clerk in the store. If someone asked me my opinion and I didn't know about the game I had one of my part-timers answer if they knew. I mention to a Game stop clerk that EDF2017 was the game.

I was in Heidelberg, Germany a week ago record collecting and got the same talk from the shop owner.

Him - "I bet there are some good samples on there for you."
Me - "I don't sample Sir, I'm a record collector." (somewhat lying to him)
Him - "Es tut mit Leid. (I am sorry) Most of you kids nowadays buy records just to steal from for black music (rap)."
Me - "Dude.... I'm 40 years old!!!"
