Drum sample packs

I was wondering if anyone has ever bought sample packs online and could elaborate on quality and where to look. I've seen alot of cookie cutter stuff on mpc samples .com and stuff like that but wasn't really impressed. Is there some place i haven't come across yet that has dope drum samples? any help would be appreciated thanks.

If you are after boombap kind of drums then I can recommend the following drum kits.

Boombap drumkits:

M-Phazes Dirty Thirty 1

Paul Nice's Drum Library 1-5 **

* Boonie Mayfield = Boon Doc from Youtube.

** Vinyl. Contains breakbeats only, so you need to chop them to get one-shots.

All of the aforementioned drum kits are excellent and can be found on eBay. They are all boombap and have that raw, gritty sound. Best of all, they are cheap.

I don't know what to recommend you if you are looking for "clean" drums.

I will however recommend to you that you at one point start sampling your own drums from vinyl. With the combination of dynamics processors such as PSP VintageWarmer and Bootsy NastyHF/NastyLF you can really make some ill one-shots.

PS: If you want to learn about classic breaks then visit http://www.mhat.com/phatdrumloops/ but don't use samples from that site as they are lo-fi and because it generally just sucks to use breaks downloaded from the web.

How do you implement these internet kits with MPCs? Do you burn onto CD or load onto an iPod and catch one-shots to sample (analog 1/4" or optical digital cable?) or is there a way to load these files directly onto Zip?

dude just extract em and figure out how to get em on ur memory card, i wouldnt suggest sampling these thru an ipod

I have an MPC 3000... no memory cards.

if you have a usb to floppy drive, hook that up, drag on to floppy, there you go, did that with the 2000 classic for a minute!
