best stylus/cartridge brands models???

just found folks grand ol Technics SL-D3 with a broken cartridge. what are the best brands for sound? thanks

First you need to establish some type of price range... what do you wanna drop? And what is your main use going to be? Scratching, listening, recording, or all 3?

Ortofon is kind of the DJ standard. I've been rockin the Concorde's for a while now... for terms of quality / durability they're "suppose" to be about the best. Though... I did have some DJ Craze scratch cartridges on a different set of turntables and I swear they seemed indestructible... i learned on them and was way more brutal with dropping them on the side of the platter and what not. They never broke. People claim the concorde's are hard to wreck, but I've gone through 5 or 6 styli's in the past 7 years... and they cost a fortune.

i do a ton of scratching though. if you're looking for something just to record with... and it's just a quality issue... the Ortofon Arkiv's are suppose to be good for vinyl to digital transfers, I'm just afraid I'll snap em' the first day, but might be worth checkin out.
