any spots around san fran and maybe close by oakland to dig for good records? ow and anything fun i can do without me being such a tourist?

obvious ones:
Amoeba Records at the end of Haight street, down by the park.
Amoeba in Berkeley, and Rasputin in Berekely. These are great cause they are almost next door to each other.

All three of those are huge and have KILLER dollar and 50 cent bins. When I lived in the bay I would just spend hours at amoeba going through every single used house record they had.

As for cool niche shops I don't know ... coming from small town texas, the used selection at those places was enough to keep me satisfied. The used hip hop section at amoeba on haight is disgustingly large. California is full of the shrapnel from consumer warfare.

Hell yeah. Don't sleep on lower Haight street either. I remember some awesome shops there.
