Using internet for digging.

Hi. I'm a computer head and I've found many good things on youtube and other sites, but the problem is quality.
Do you have any ideas what to do to acquire those songs? Maybe a site where you can buy those tracks , a torrent where you can download it etc.

u can pretty much find nething u want u just gotta dig hard enough, alot on youtube, and tons of torrents out there

If your gonna use the internet to source songs to sample, type lossless or FLAC in your Google search. You might need to get a converter to turn the FLAC files to WAV though, other times you'll find WAVS. This way you're sampling 16 bit /44.1hz WAVS rather than mp3's or a low quality You Tube sound jack.

Well Mr. Computerhead, another sit-down at the computer will probably get you there.

most everything is avail on the intrawebs, you just have to be creative in your search query...., similar to diggin via youtube....

There are just so many songs, single, LP that are not yet available on CD or download (even bittorrent download) yet.
For instance, many Nancy Wilson's songs are not yet released on CDs. (I know some of you might think you wouldn't care about her music, but there are a lot of Nancy Wilson LPs that worth checking out. I won't give out information though.)
Sure, you can find most of obscure songs you can think of on YouTube (which is great for referencing), but I would not use them for sampling.

FLAC format is good, but some players can't read that format (ie windows media player)
i use vlc ( http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ ) or mixxx ( http://mixxx.org/ ) to play flac

I agree but at the same time, you gotta get it where you can get it. In other words, the piracy topic is very controversial but in this day and age, how would they stop each individual from baggin tunes online for free?

Supposedly, Congress is trying to pass a system that will tie to iP addresses and SSN's to catch people...in the meantime, just get as much as you can. thats what i'm doing.

If it were the other way around and I was the hard workin artist not getting that extra $ from ppl ILLEGALLY diggin and stealin offline, i really wouldn't be mad. If there were an effective system for stoppin ppl and they were STILL getting my tunes, then i'd be like

I just like having hard copies, I guess somewhere along the line people forgot how special actually owning records really is. Maybe I just didn't catch on to how worthless records are.

If you are still in the need of quality sites or way's to rip samples off youtube shoot me a pm. I have a pretty nice list of blogspot's that have full vinyl rip's from records ranging from 60's-late 80's in the genre's of Rock, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Country, etc. etc.

Internet digging? I don't get it...

The term "Digging" comes from the actual act of digging through crates of records...
