January Flipping Competition

It's January 2012! From here on out I am going to run a monthly flipping contest on here.

This months track to flip is: Gladys Knight - It's The Same Old Song



Download can be grabbed from Soundcloud, or you can wait for my my .wav upload. If you have it on vinyl, even better.

The rules:

You must flip this track. No other tracks can be used apart from using them for breaks, one shots or short samples.

Track must be complete on the [20th] CHANGED TO 30th of January 2012. Once the tracks are added, it will go into 7 day voting. Winner will be crowned "January Flipper Champion".

Once flipped, post up your soundcloud/myspace/soundclick link along with what hardware/software you used to create it.

Go. Go. Go.

Will be adding mine tomorrow.

I wasn't able to grab the wave unfortunately. A friend was supposed to rip it from vinyl but he's gone away for the week and "forgot".

Feel free to download from SC or find a version online worth using.

For February's I will come more prepared.

Who's in on this? I will get mine finished today. I decided to use the EPS for this flip.

I like the to have flip to and like hearing others take on stuff. Thats why i think its importatnt to like have a common starting samlple and take it from there. does not have to be a whole song like either. I mean i aint no fan of above choice like but its what ya do with it creatively as we all know. I think I might be able to give you a bit of competition es-k, but then I have heard your stuff to so will have to bring A game hey.

Yeah, 10 days away. I may extend it if we get some late comers to the last day of the month and then start the voting 1st of February. No hard rules, just a lot of fun.

I do agree on the beat battles section too.

I haven't listened to the sample yet, but I think I might jump in. Cool idea.

Just a clarification, can we use synths and sampled drums from other sources? Or do we have to use only what is included in the track?

I imagine, from this, there are no synths allowed but drum hits are cool

Synths are allowed yes so long as there from your own hardware/software. Point noted for next time I set the rules as they was unclear a little.

The heart of the track should be the sample/samples from the main track though.

I'm in this too..so much going on right now but this is a GREAT idea and I simply cannot pass it up.
