re-issued re-printed imported and

How many of you diggers will NOT buy re-issued vinyl and ONLY grab originals? The most hyped producer swears he only buys originals...but does that mean if you found a rare gem that you knew was a re-issue, u wouldn't take it?

While every one prefer original issues, I recommend not go into that nonsense. If the reissue is only way that you can get the song(s) you need, just get that vinyls.

Also, sound quality varies on each re-issues, some of the reissues are better than the original due to better mastering job and better pressing material (of course 1st press is great no matter what, because it is 1st press (the history attached to it), not always because of sound quality.)

Yes, most of the cases bootlegs sounds inferior than the original, but many cases, properly licensed reisseus sound great, and clean. I think European and Japanese reissues sound great most of the time. (I love Japanese pressings, but they are expensive.)
Having said that, there are still many, many songs that are not available as reissue. I still dig in the crates.

Hell yeah I buy reissues, I even sampled remastered CDs myself. I just want the music to listen to. But I'll still cop the original if I see it, then I'll bag it up and just play the reissued version.

Yep...if I had the choice, I may go for the original if the album was one that held some sentimental value...then my pack rat collector side would kick in. If it's purely samples I'm after, I don't really care.

yeh for sure. sometimes buying a re-issue will save you over $1000 from buying an original.

its part of the soul of diggin for me... going and coppin the re issue is just a easy give me now... some gems i have been diggin for years when i finally find them it brings the soul to the finger tips!

if you just wanna bang out beats be creative... dont go to the easy source youll become a coner cutter when you get stummped...

i only cop OGs bottom line if you cop or download samples your a HERB and if i find out ill never listen to the artists stuff... just me and my rooted ways. call me a hater but im a digger

Most reissues I have, only 10 exists in its original pressing. Its a beautiful thing to listen to something you'll never find or afford.

Its like books, the original Stephen King novel, IT is a hard to find book in its first printing and its a hard cover. Why should I pay up for the original copy when I can get the paperback at Walgreen for $3 dollars? Its the same story written by the same author only in a compact format. I'm still getting that joy. Of course, one night when I was drunk, I ended up in the middle of New York City at 2am and was tripping with these hippies whom I never knew but we was family that night and what catches my eye? The original hardcover of Stephen King's IT laying on the floor by some trees. I grabbed it, left the hippies and made my way back to Brooklyn.
