I gotta get me some Cal Tijader.... I never come across anything of his that is worth pickin up... I came across one thing that looked really interesting, but it was scuffed up beyond repair... Scratches to the point where you'd be lucky if it was stable long enough to get a one shot of a horn or something...

alot of cal records are straight ahead lounge style stuff
but a few of his records including thoses two i picked up
are more deep and ambient style stuff.
he sometimes plays really dark stuff, and sometimes its really happy vibe playing.
that cal with strings is the real bomb i think.
that donald byrd album is the bomb too
it was arranged and produced by larry mizell.

Almost made me laugh...

Wack in what vein...

Being an interesting loop... Or the nice drums he laid on top and the way he chopped it...

I mean it's your opinion... I just would like to know what you think it's wack for...

Yea I heard he has some dark stuff that is right down my alley, but I've never come across anything...

I'll have to look at my spot... He slipped my mind the last few times I was there...

Good looks on the reminder...

if you like darker stuff
CAL TIJADER WITH STRINGS.....LAST NIGHT WHEN WE WERE YOUNGE
is pretty dark but lush with lots off samplin spaces
throw that through a cutoff and you have ambient tracks for days.
dont sleep on some of gabor sazbo
some of his stuff is dark
