estate sales.. garage sales.. who digs em

i love estate sales and garage sales
in my city you can dig non stop for days
alot of other heads go looking to, so sometimes its a cut throat
but everynow and then
bammm you hoop up right.

im trying to get into checking out estate auctions in my area. do u check auctions in generall or do they let u know that they have records up?
i def love garage sales and thrift shops though

I've never had the opportunity to dig at an estate sale, but i stop at every garage sale i see if i'm out runnin' around or whatever.

Sometimes, if the people are cool i'll ask about wax even if i don't see any out on the driveway.

check the papers yall
in the same section as the garage sales they usually have a section
on estate sales
sometimes they are auctions but mostly there just open houses like a huge garage sale indoors.
you walk in and look for the wax.
i have come across rooms where there is literally records stacked to the ceiling.
sometimes you got to rummage some but you can find gems in the attic.
best thing is they are usually mad cheap.
and dont forget music equipment.
you can find reel to reels, instruments and old record players.
check this out.
my boy went to an estate sale and scored a sp1200 for 100 bucks.
it was not priced and they had best offer on it.
he said 100 bucks and they flipped
they let him sift through all the records and take what he wanted for free.
no kiddin.
i guess it was left in one of the basement storage rooms at this rental apt building and no one claimed it. they had no clue what it was.

thats what i always think about... somewhere in the world there has to be an SP in like a thrift shop or something, just waiting for some lucky mofo to stumble across it and buy it for a ridiculously low price... it goes to show that "digging" is "deeper' than just records... props to your homie man, this is an inspiring digging story!

if you only hit the retail spots, you are only hittin 50 percent of the wax.
the best thing about estate sales is that they are done by companies that do them every single week somewhere.
poeple hire out a estate sale company to come in and run game.
go to a print place and get biz cards made up with your info on it, and that your looking for wax and music stuff.
go to the estate sales
chalk it up with the heads puttin it on
politic and network with em
give em you card and tell em to call you if they come across any wax.
trust me they will call you.
they will call you every frickin day , and its ill because its like someone out there is diggin for you.
this works and it will score you gems before any of the sales even go down.
i have scored big at estate sales.
garage sales are summer time thing on the weekend,
its all about the location for them.

ya over here in the bay area thers this town called niles and every year on the last sunday in august the hole town becomes a flea market every one pills out there stuff and sales . a lot of folk pull out records it starts at 4am and ends at 4 pm, i go every year i scored this year shoot i score evry year. each year it seems to get better and better.


i aslo hit the thrifts but i got to try those estate sale that sound like a charm

i scored on a technics sl-1650 for 5 bucks know i got 4 turntables.

damn i never heard of estate sales. i wonder if they have those up here

yeah, people forget about thier stack....or dont think anyone will want them.

also ive gone behind some "record stores" and found shit in the alley. If you go to the strores that carry mostly new stuff.

ive also looked at the obituary, and called up the Family asking if they were selling any of their shit! Told them i was mainly looking for old 70s funk and soul records.....non of those geezer box sets.

nah man when a person dies they auction of there property and goods to the public, to pay off the estate and stuff like bills and mortages. Records are usally there. They family lists it in the paper and a crowd comes out to buy the ish. I dont know bout the callin the obituaries shi* thats a little cold and wack. someone died, it aint lets make a deal.
