buying records online

i went to a place that had records. It had some i wanted but it didnt have the other records i wanted. so since i dont really have much time to go digging cause i work and take care of a family member i was thinking of buying some online like discogs and ebay. have u guys ever brought records online? is that allowed? whats yall input.

I buy records online all the time discogs, ebay, instagram... I still go digging all the time but living in a small town in Canada it can be pretty difficult to find that korean only pressing of an artists that maybe one in 20 million people have heard of.

I buy online and I don't care. I click the mouse and its a done deal. Only three spots in my area but they specialize in overpricing barely fair looking records or its the same champagne and bubble music of the fifties. Once in a blue they got gems so I dig when possible but a particular picking **** like me looks for particular shit to pick so online is my candy store.

yes. Build up a very large wish list first! When you find a record you really want it'll show what else you want from the same dealer. Really helpful when buying 12" singles. Saving on shipping is key!

Online 100% for specific labels, styles, records I'm actively looking for. I can never get enough of European library music but that virtually never show up outside specialist dealers and you have to pay top £.

For crate digging I tend to go to charity shops looking to spend 50p - old folk records can be good for nice dusty guitar samples, psych, 'cheesy' Hammond and Moog party compilations have good moments, groovier big band stuff can be worth a punt.

The middle-of-the-road USED record stores here sometimes have some good rare soul and funk but most of it is pretty obvious stuff.

I dont use discogs much no more..i got tired of sellers false descriptions..and u cant see actual record being sold..i liked selling on there cause it was faster and easier then ebay..i use ebay and i approach it like i am digging...wait for the cheap auction listing and snipe it last second..search bsides for 45s will net better comeups..and i reg. Message seller to negotiate a lower buy it now which works about 75 percent of the time. I sell on discogsebay and lately my perfered method of selling and buying is instagram..me and some other cats who are serious heads started a page called @ig_collective_record_sales that has records that range from your average break to the 300$ grail..no fees no holds no bs from the middleman plus i can offer discounts easier when dudes buy in bulk...some other notable sellers on ig are d2175(foreignsamplesbreaks) and djkornbreeze (breakssamples) both homies who are reputable and dig for straight beathead shit!

I actually prefer to order my sought-afters online. This allows me to weed out every other print/option I have down to the exact copy I want.

I have an as-close-to-pristine-as-I-could-ever-want copy of 'Bitches Brew' that was ordered for about $10 (+ shipping). I do not think I could get that lucky in any of the shops in town.

No rules. Just acquisition.
