Looking for some funk

I recently copped Fatback band (76) - Let's do it again (i think thats whats its called)

an liked it , I aint really copped much in the way of funk apart from stuff found on soundtracks.

any suggestions? on some artists to check for, bearing in mind i dont like all that super fast crazy funky stuff.

I prefer the more down tempo stuff.

Rasputans stash is not a common record (at least not where I've been).
Also they have more than one release but I would say the self titled one shows up more. It's on the Cotillion label. It's not really like Fatback if you ask me but it's still good. I have doubles if you wanna talk business but you should try to hear it first (if you can somehow). It's really only a $10 or $15 record.

But on the subject of funk.....
There are tons of books on the subject and also you need to just keep digging! Knowledge comes with time and experience. Dig for 10 years. Dig for life.

yo ced80 the cover is maroon (dark red) background with a dude and his girl smiling looking at each other on some love tip.

Some really nice gear came out on Cotillion. Young Holt. . .

safe perish ive seen young holt around but passed it by, ima have a listen when i see they shit again.
