Identifying samples

This is kinda a random thought, but i dunno bout ya'll, but when I listen to a song and can identify the sample, I get excited(no homo). Like for example, i'm listening to the Dead Presidents Soundtrack and there's this Barry White song on there and Alchemist used it on his 1st infantry album-the song with Prodigy and Game called Dead Bodies. It's kinda like im training my mind and ear to be more attentive to different sounds.

i mean if you dont digg and you just use modules then your losen the basis of what hip hop truely is i mean its about those momments when your listening and the sound calls to you then you hear it somewhere else and then it all makes sence if rick rueben was up in here he would put it down like all the early ish i did when me and russel first started def jam was samples it about useing the old to make something new i will always digg im a purist my son will digg wax is for ever i hate cd's i love my tapes and old records diggin will always be here as long as i walk the earth im from an older time and like an older sound this new ish sound nice but producer are gettin big headed back in the day it was about freakin a sample not being some juilieard cat makin music for the masses in the slums
