*Soul Clap* * * * *

Am diggin for a soul clap, sittin next a heap of records and know i have one somewhere (am drunk and impatient tho). Recomend some songs pls. gotta bunch of motown records here so with some luck you can recomend the tune 4 me.... yes.. am feelin that lazy today.

You own a mic with a pre??? If so, make your own claps, they sound better. You could do different ones like a snappy one wit cha palms, a deeper one with your hands in a more closed position, and one that's in between. Then you could layer 'em slightly off from each other. Maybe even grab one from a drum machine or module and add it in for some crispiness. Check out a Zapp/Roger's greatest hits album, there's at least a half dozen or more from Zapp alone. Also, Ultimate Breaks and Beats got a bunch. Or do like erybody else and grab that Trackmasters crunch-clap from the 'Fiesta' instrumental.

yeah got a crap mike - it'll do the job though. been through piles of records and haven't found anything thats useable. am gonna try that. that way i can layer a whole load of claps and get exactly what i'm after. thanks for tip. sometimes the most obvious solutions just pass you by!

also.. reminded me i got couple of shackers and rattles i picked up ages ago and never used. will be pulling them of the cupboard.
