Does Anybody else do this?

Sometimes when I don't feel like using the mpc and I just wanna enjoy my records. I will listen to the album the write on the cover what good sounds are on there and stuff. Then when I feel like making a beat I can just look at the cover. Like sometimes I'll right like open drums, or great strings, or horns or something. That way if I want some strings I'll know which records to look for.

I use Post-It notes as I don't want to mess up the covers ...... unless it is something with just one decent sound that I will then chuck out once it is sampled.

hmmm.... post it notes. never thought of that. i write on the covers, too...but i write on the plastic outer lining. i think i'll use post it, now. damn, good idea

why didnt i think of that?

I've always done it that way.Although it's hard to keep them on there sometimes thanks to my little one always pullin' them off.

Thats a great idea. I might have to tape the bottom of the post it note so they won't keep coming. I'm bout to head to the dollar store now.

They'll stay as long as you don't keep pullin' them off and on.Just write it down post it and leave it.Soon or later you'll need to replace them but you can't stop that.Don't ruin your covers by puttin' tape on em.Post-it's leave less if any residue.

all tho i dont post notes on my records due to laziness i do write remakes sometimes on the inside of the cover or on the sleeve,

but i got to remeber to start writing notes for the songs i use with what.
