fustration

Isn't it fustrating when you grab the most random vinyl, and it turns out its been touched already...

Case in point, today going through this weeks purchases, and on my
Disneyland Presents: Songs From the Electric Company T.V. Show on the song "Sign Song"..

Funny, I owned that album on cass way back in the day, did they
even give a source from that one? I mean its the main melody...
One of their best... Ahhh, I think my version is a little cleaner, but I guess its still dope to own a semi piece of Hip Hop History...

I think that finding records that have a sample on them that ha already been used is pretty cool.

I don't mind as long as I didn't spend mad time only to have somebody else drop it before me!

Yeah when it happens like that it does suck!

my worst WORST burn was i'd been working with the jazz singer for like 4 months on and off on a mad track, had a sample of a cassette i found in the glove box of my parents old car, which was sealed shut by the gloss on the wood (was an old jag- been sitting in our garage for years). The tape was an old bill cosby tape, but not the usual stand up- it was all tunes.

SO- we had pretty much put the track to bed, still needed some tweaking but the bones were there for a nice track. A freind comes round that night with a promo copy of new j5 and the sample was played out in "after school special".....

heartbreaking.

i havent found the courage to go back to it yet, but one day...

I have a bunch of those stories... Thats prolly worse then finding a known sample... Having your sample found...
