Brazilian records

A friend of mine who is mainly into rock is being given a collection of over 1,000 LPs......and it's supposedly rich with a lot of Brazilian Jazz, and Brazilian percussion stuff, etc.

My man says he will trade me some of that stuff for some rock records that I have that he wants.

Can someone put me up on some titles or artists of Brazilian music that I should look out for?

joao donato is one of the most slept on brazilian artists ever. Mainly cuz dude was so far musically advanced that he was pretty much insane. He helped deodato on some recordings. check out his solo lps like who and who and commonplace. the one you will most likely be able to find is one of his only us releases the bad donato on blue thumb

(another musician worth checking out is Gil Gilberto)

I have a few albums by Flora already. Her husband is actually percussionist Airto (Moreira.) The name is kinda similar to Deodato I guess.
I have some Deodato as well.
I'm actually looking for titles that are actually from Brazil rather than American records of Brazilian artists. Supposedly, that's what that 1,000 records is all about.
