MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA

Anyone else diggin them?

there stuff isn't too hard to come by, but I've been finding them a great source for all kinds of sounds. for peeps not familiar with them they are a kind of rock/jazz fusion band.

probably one of my favorite sources for samples, but I'd thought i'd share them with you anyhow.

I saw Apocalypse while out today and had a listen. I thought it was alright but I didn't buy it. What's their other stuff like in comparison?

it's a collection of great jazz/fusion musicians....billy cobham, jan hammer....(cant think of the others) ....def some good shiet

miles beyond is by far my favorite mah.orch. track ....you could loop that up no problem, not touch it and let it bang by itself

Inner Mounting Flame, and Birds Of Fire are both incredible albums.
I've been a fan since the late '80s. John McLaughlin is the man. He was really the leader of the group.
Both of these albums have been sampled a bunch, so don't think it's anything new.

they have a couple of "off market" albums too.john has a couple of collaborartions albums with a guy called SHAKTI.
