Stax Volt Vol.1

Just brought The Complete Stax/Volt Soul Singles Vol.1 1959-1968 off ebay.

I want pick up all the volumes of these before I go away with my 1K and lappy. Not having vinyl to sample from is gonna sting so I thought I'd better invest in some ish I can stick on a hard drive before I go. I'll be probably hi-jacking my dads entire jazz cd collection on to HD as well before I go! Should keep me going for a while.

Anyone got any of these stax collections?

hey what up with you TT didnt you just get serato what you going to do with that before you go?

i'm thinking i'm going to take serato with me to and a big fat hard drive. am going out to thailand to live on one of the islands somewhere. opting out of city life for some tropical ish.

out there cats mostly have cd decks, but you can control serato with cd decks too so thats cool. me, my 1k, lappy, serato and a big fat HD. dont know how long i'm gonna go for but i'm buying a one-way ticket. went out to asia a few months back and i loved it. i decided when i was out there that i wanted to live there for a while. but really i had to come back to organise that properly and let my fam know i hadnt just gone awol etc.

if all goes to plan i'll be heading out in january. better get that HD together soon.

There is a rumour I've been seeing that Justin Timberlake is about to buy both SUN and STAX record labels.
I've read other places that it's a false rumour.....so who knows.

what! thats crazy, i hope he dont... but saying that - just 'cos he's a twat doesnt really necessarily mean he's gonna ruin stax. unless he starts releasing his own ish on it.

thats what i'm saying , or even getwack artist to put there sh!t on . stax is classic. i would hate to see it go down with some popmusic sh!t, but then it's that what usually takes down most labels....

I can believe him buying the Sun Record label, but he can't possibly buy Stax. At least not the record label. Unless you mean the publishing or something. "why" you ask? Because Stax Records was demolished YEARS ago and the city of Memphis only recently (maybe four years ago) re-opened Stax on the same grounds as the legendary studio/label. Only this time they opened it up as a museum. I know this because I had a bootycall right across the street from it before I moved to Phoenix, AZ. a couple of
years ago. lol.

Please disregard my last post. I just read the link and it seems that JT will be trying to purchase the rights of the label, not the physical site itself. I jumped the gun. Sorry.

He gonna have to break open someone else's piggy bank for this one.....Stax alone is worth more than $1 billion...so they say.....I think Justin's eyes is too big to eat all of that.....

Well according to reports, he does have an investment team so...we'll see. Damn. I know his father is from Memphis, but f**k that. I'd rather see Isaac Hayes or Aretha have it. If he does get it though, I can't hate.
