correct me if i am wrong, the RIAA as well as Soundscan consider double cd's or albums are considered to be one release due to the fact that the double cd's only has 1 UPC to scan hence 1 sale, so 250k sales still would not = gold, let alone platinum.

reguardless the song on it wasn't even theres that bullshitt why would you want a plat. record if it aint even your music riaa should flowers check them selfs.... they worry about downloaders and they can't even get they shiit right. i think i would have dont they same but i would have open'd it first then put it in the shitter if it wasnt mine music.

I heard stories like that b4, where the vinyl they use to 'make' these gold and/or platinum records is just some old junk vinyl that has nothing to do with the recording that the artist actually is awarded for. It's of course hearsay since I don't know anybody personally who has a gold/platinum vinyl @ home.

does it really matter what's on the plaque? i mean, they award the artist the plaque to symbolize their sales status not to be played. some plaques also come with a gold/platinum CD also, i don't expect the CD to be playable. they put it in a glass frame to be looked at not played.

As long as your name is spelled right and it's for the appropriate (has the right name of...) song/album then there should be no problem. Also, i can understand if someone found out that it's not real gold/platinum but other than that, it really shouldn't matter if it's playable.
