DJ PIERRE — THE AFRO ACID PROJECT
DJP-Black Tech Records/King Street Sounds
Release Date: March 13, 2006
Acid King, DJ Pierre, Preps For Return Trip
House Music legend, Wild Pitch maestro and strictly rhythm-minded DJ Pierre will drop his debut album, "The Afro Acid Project" March 13, on DJP Records/King Street Sounds.
An exploration of rhythms and sounds, the album pays homage to Pierre's Chicago House roots and signature NYC "Wild Pitch" epics while ensuring that contemporary dancefloors are aligned it its crosshairs.
About the forthcoming album, he says, "Afro Acid is a culmination of Acid, Garage, Wild Pitch, Disco, Techno, Electro and Rock. It's a new approach to making house music and DJing it. It's about inclusion and fusing together multiple elements of music to get the ultimate club experience! That's who I am as a producer and a DJ."
Featured guest artists include Louie Vega, Paul Johnson, Roy Davis Jr., France's DJ Gregory and UK supa-producer, Seamus Haji. Current singles from the album include the very Wild Pitch chunk of funky house, "Come Together (What is House)" featuring Felicia (King Street Sounds) and swirling acid cocktail, "Paris Collection (Feel Sexy)" featuring Hanna Hais (DJP-Black Tech Records).
"The Afro Acid Project" isn't out until March, so here's a nice juicy DJ Pierre Mixtape MP3 to pump in the meantime.

Is Techno still alive? I thought Trance took it over? The techno I remember is the stuff out of Detroit back around '88 - '94. Those were the days!
