nabbing beats

I have never attemped this, but thought, hmm it may work. This is what you need to do. (I am not saying this is ethical, or perhaps even legal) But hey when your poor do what ya need to do.

This all assumes they have a listing station or you have a portable turntable.

Get your laptop/portable harddisk/Minidisk/etc.. recorder.

Connect your headphones to the headphone in

Connect a Stereo miniplug to 1/4 inch cable to the record input

Place recording device into your bag/pocket

Go get your records you want to sample

Connect your stereo 1/4 inch to the headphone out of the stores mixer or you portable turntable

Sample away.


If you have a laptop with alot of hard disk space you can record for quite a long time. I can for atleast 5 hours. After your full go take a break and burn your stuff off to cd and start again.

If you do it right you just look like you are using your own headphones, and if they ask why, come on, all shop headphones suck balls.

You will look a little suspect if you do it too much so I would move on to different locations or atleast buy a couple of records.

i've never tried this nor will i ,but i have tried to record this way at home and it doesnt work you need ahot signal , i've tried it with a mini disc and it didnt work, may you no somethhing i dont ,

plus, i rather buy the record to play at party's and sample again and again,
but if your poor i guess it would work but you could be that poor if you got a portable ,minidisc ,or a lappy?

Nah, I'm not going to try, its not in my personality really. But, it does work, i just tryed it. Since the headphone out is amped (headphone amp) it is plenty loud. I was just scheming. I do this when I am board. Its all about the "what if" in life.

If you dont 'want' the record download an mpeg 3

make a friend at the record shop.

then make a deal. youll buy 1 record a week, if you can exchange 3.

sample those 3, then exchange em next week.
