My dad has been bugging me about how crappy his mp3 player is for so long. So this Christmas I got him the iPod Nano. I wanted to give it to him as soon as I got it because I know that he'd love it and would love to use it right away (he's been meaning to get it himself, he says he needs it for when he's at work). But I decided to take the chance and risk waiting until Christmas to give it to him (hoping he doesn't go out and get it himself).

I just started making beats as a hobby and I've been wanting to purchase a turntable strictly for sampling purposes. Nothing too expensive. Not for scratching or anything, just something to sample vinyl. But, 'available funds' and 'vinyl' were holding me back.

Then earlier tonight, I was looking for some rechargable batteries. So I checked the cabinet (where my dad usually keeps his batteries). Instead of finding batteries, I find my dad's Sansui SR-232 Turntable and some of his old vinyl (12s & 45s)!!! Table's really dusty and so are most of the 45s. My jaw hit the ground and my eyes almost fell out of their sockets. I asked my dad if I could use it and he said he was planning on giving it to me for Christmas! I was so ecstatic that I gave him his Christmas present early in return. If you think about it, it's kind of funny. It's like the 'old' going to the 'new' and the 'new' going to the 'old'.

Anyway, I'm going to go clean the table and see if the needle and/or the records are still in working condition. What do yall recommend for cleaning vinyl?

yeah thats a cool stroy reminds me of me when i was 11-12 lookin for my dadas TT and using it to mix with , my dada would beat my ass for using his TT, but it all turn'd out good ,any ways take care of it cause it prolly some old sh!t it prolly way older then you , take a dust cloth and wipe of the dust cover if it has one and just wipe off the plater abd arund it take the needle of it comes off , it should if it 's an old TT make sure the stylus is still on it ,

to clean the records that link cap put is good or just wash the records with cold water and some soap use a napkin of a paper towel to wash it and run it threw cold water, then dap dry it ,in a circular motion, you kan get the label wet , but dont soak it and dap it dry only then take some alcohol and wipe the record with it,
other then that enjoy what pops gave you,
can wait to see the look on my sons face when i give him everything , although he already knows it's his.
