man has anyone heard this , it's fairly old , late 80's. anyways i was listen to this track ,cant remeber the name of it ,but jazzy sample'd BOB JAMES just as he did in a touch of jazz,but in this one he straight flips the shizz out of it, he samples it as he regularly did and then he chopp'd it and made his own melody , he was doin this before premo,

my question is why doesnt he get props as premo does for productions ?

sure he didnt work with all these good artist but imagine if he did he would blow premo away, imo ok not blow him away but it would be a pretty tight competiton.

i think JAZZY JEFF is slept on, he is a talented dj /producer ,as the matter a fact i think he was one/if not the first to start choppin samples.

Jazzy has always been one of my favorites.Really talented but really slept on.

He's done alot of stuff that went under the radar including one of the hottest tracks i've heard in a long time.If you get a chance look for this track with him and Bumpy and wouldn't you know it,i can't think of the name.But it's rather new and just plain ridiculous.

yes def, slept on . but my thing is that he started choppin in the 80's before anyone did, you got to hear that trck and hear what i mean it was dope ,i just realized that the other day, i was listening to that song and it just started to get a crazy i realized he chopp'd it up and it was dope ,

i want to hear that bumpy song with him must be tight track.
he's got an new album comin out , or i think it may have came out already ,but i'm going to check it out.

Jazzy Jeff is a legend here in Philly (his hometown), but outside of PHI and NYC, I don't think that he gets the props that he deserves. I remember that album, and Jeff was crazy on the turntables.

I think he was overshadowed alot by The Fresh Prince (Will Smith), who is easily the most recognizable of the former duo.

Plus, he started doing a lot of non-hip hop production (Jill Scott's first album comes to mind) at his production company, A Touch of Jazz.

Didnt Jeff invite the Transformer scratch??? Even though he doesn't get the props he deserve, he was on that BET awards or tribute to Jam Master J with Primo, Grand MasterFlash, and I forgot the other DJs, but Jeff wrecked it. He had the illest set between the other DJs. Anyways Jazzy Jeff is the man, ill on the scratches.

jaff's music is tha shiznit. touch of jazz is one of the illest production company's ever--(ie Kev Brown)

I just found that old Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (He's the DJ I'm The Rapper) joint on a dig recently...50 cents still in the plastic...2 records.

@AMG theres alot of conflict on this topic some say jazz was the one then some say cash was the one, but if you have seen some of q-berts turntables TV shows he talks to cash and he is tha originator as far as q-bert says, but i have recently heard that cash just master'd it and brought it out , but i think jazzy is the first to put it on record,on the magnificent on the "rock the house "album.


@research; man ,you lucky that's an ill classic,check that song it's mostly drum beats and it has that sample from "westchester lady" from BOB JAMES THREE on it , and listen to how he chops it up; thats choppin in the 80's man , befor anybody start'd choppin loops or samples.

I saw that.Him,Flash and Kid Capri were doin' a roulette.Like one would scratch then the next would get on the same tables and then the next.They did this for about 5 minutes straight.It was def. something to be remembered.Not just because how they did it but who was doin' it.

yes but the one i'm talkin about he used the bob james sampled and chooped it up .and flipd a melodie with it not a long one but just played it like keys and it was dope

I'm trying to remember all the samples on "A Touch Of Jazz" now. I don't even own a copy but that recorded is so firmly rooted in my head as the instrumental was such a big record in London at that time.

word .i've been lookin for mister magic for the reason ,i got a few of which he sampled, i got the cover to mister magic which pisses me off. i keepit to remeber that i need to find it .
