ayo i was thinking about the millions of records that have been mined over the years and how most beatmakers and even producers have been steady sampling the same breaks over and over. i don't know if that is one of the reasons the game has gotten flowers up but i'm sure alot of us can agree that it's flowers up

this isn't a "keep it real" arguement or saying bring back the old school vibe convo - it's just have y'all ever thought about when all the old records in the world have been sampled let's just say 50 years from now, and all our kids will have to sample is what's on the radio now?
for the execption of what true d.i.t.c. heads put out but even that will be sample-based itself, hence the same sounds, no matter how altered or filtered, or re-used yet again.
and imagine the records our kids will be sampling CORNY SH!T: norah jones, usher, j. lo, madonna, dixie chicks etc. i don't really know what's played on th radio and i don't mean to insult the mentioned artists but we can agree that the sound that hip-hop is based on will not be supported by such singers as the one's that we have today.
the point is it appears the music industry has almost succeeded in killing of good music no matter where it's from as long as money is the bottom line rather than quality (qualitty talent, quality of recording, authentic artists rather than industry insiders/ass-kissers/fake media creations aka corporate gangstas and other pop creations).
a lot of pop music today is recorded from two tracks with a lyric recorded on top, could have been done at home with a cheap mic, or gutta bassment studio with grimey equipment (which is dope for hip-hop but i'm talking about the recording of the music we sample in the future).
(this two track b.s. is an issue for us tho cause especially in rap alot of cats have gotten accustomed to doing this 2 track bullsh!t- seperate matter). it's all good for mixtapes but for the love of God.
breakin it down, basically:
corny broads are singing hella hooks
singers get by on nothing but looks (or how many diccs get sucked)/connects family ties like daddy's litter girl is the daughter of a MBG exec
sampling laws aim at killing a sampling artform
music is more compressed and digitized than ever, synthesized not done in studios with proper acoustics or even equipment
the industry fazed out political and social content from pop music[/b] (a la Bob Dylan, What's Going On, All Along the Watchtower, I'm Black and I'm Proud, **** the Police, **** a War, I got a letter from the government, the other day, I opened and read it, it said they was SUCKAS
4 companies own 99% of the music in the world, and they are still merging
this equals hell for the seeds in the future when they try to get they groove on, and yet we continue to sample the same tired joints and degrade our own artform by engaging in such practices and allowing the government to shut us down.
is it any secret that there's been no Hip-Hop on major labels and what was has been mutilated into something altogether different?
so the question is, diggin in the crates forever, until we run out of records? why don't we become adept at playing instruments and laying foundations for the future?
the vibes of james brown, bobby byrd, fred wesley, george clinton, bootsty collins, stevie wonder, manu dibango, isaac hayes, donny hathaway, marvin gaye, aretha franklin, billie holiday, roger troutman, dennis coffy, rick james b!tch, how we ever gonna recapture it if only 10% of us still play instruments, we operate under an industry that would rather cut costs and hire one dude to play a synthesizer rather than a complete band, horn players can't find work, we already hold rap music to such a low value to where we allow cats to record on two tracks, and an entire album can be made my emailing tracks to one another without stepping in the studio together!
that's flowers garbage man get that sh!t outta here! so few producers even go in the studio with their artists anymore, motherfuccers used to sleep in the lab for 5 days. bands used load up a studio with gear and instruments, like the insence, light the spliff and VIBE for hours on end in the studio (back when a studio was more than a computer with protools and mic booth).
you think anyone still gets down like jimi hendrix in the lab, flowers nah! we'd rather bang out 10 tracks a day than work with an artists to develop a:
vibe
riff
sound
concept
we are so instant meal with our sh!t, there's no heart anymore. i'm not sayin "you" as in you reading this forum, but the industry at large is so not concerned about music. period. that sh!t is trife, so im sayin what we gonna sample in 2056?
only a few in the biz still hold that integrity: indie cats and some execs i won't name but in hip-hop, he's who still has his balls: dj premier, dr. dre, dj quik, large professor, jaz-o, saigon, nas, jay-z, immortal technique, necro, dan the automator, scarface, 9th wonder, d-block, self scientific, dj khalil, tru life, ghostface, rza, gza, dj muggz, too $hort, e-40, rick rock, rockwilder, pete rock, jay dilla, ice cube cause at least he own his own production company and many others but the majority will do anything massa wants them to do, and that keeps not just the artform down but it sells a mans nuts to the highest bidder.
do you know what it's like to session with Premier at Headquarterz? The man still has respect for Hip-Hop, there's no bullsh!t about him. Every article I've read about artists experiences with him, M.O.P., Freddie Foxx, Big Sug, Jeru, Nas, they all express the gratitude for the way he get down.
But most cats is industry 101, real fake and the fake sh!t is killing music/culture, not just in hip-hop but in all arts and culture, it's just at its ugliest in hip-hop cause they on a public relations mission to destroy it and make into a machine to get these teens to buy ipods, drink pepsi, buy mpcs, buy sean john roc-a-wear, philly blunts, liquor, and now even LOUIS VITTON GUCCI DIAMONDS FROM SIERRA LEONE CRISTAL CORVASEUR
and the albums have become nothing more than hour long commmercials to buy these products
you even got a muthafucca making a career out of bringing crack back from vintage black-killer to fashion trend of 2005 and another ni gga got instructions to how to cook it on his album sleeve
meanwhile blacks is still second class citizens everywhere on earth, people is starving in africa, innocent citizens had their country invaded over in Iraq over some bullsh!t people dying there that shouldn't be dying on both sides, bush is spying on you muthafucca, we losing our freedoms, most of us behind bars on racism sentences, our school suck, in my city kids is getting murked almost 3 times a week on average and what's the best we can say "Stop Snitchin"? Check out my snowman t-shirt? Vote or Die? GIVE ME A flowers BREAK we actin kind of silly
that's return of a ****** mindstate to me and imma start pulling ni ggas cards in 06, and gamin on the corporate enemy (more importantly)
some of the best voices in this game said they didn't like what people was doing, so they went out and did it themselves. that's what's up cause the sh!t is flowers brain drain when i turn on the radio Clear Channel owns all that sh!t fellas, its white ownership of Hip-Hop is the reality in '06 and i don't think i caught any of y'all sleepin ( and if so wake the fuc up) but it needs to be addressed in our music (words) and power moves (actions).
