A little help needed....

Hey dudes. Been lurking on this board for sometime now and have a lot of respect for the sheer vast amount of time and dedication u put into beatmaking. But I got a question. Im in London, I got an mpx2000xl and I buy records to sample from but over here, I keep finding the same ol reissue stuff. Also, Im not sure what I should be buying. Should I be buying any and everything. Im a total newbie to this stuff man, but I am eager to learn.

Ive bought some records, some old CTI and Cadet stuff and lots of Thelma Houston madness - the same old things that pop-up but would really appreciate any advice u guys could give

When I dig, I usually buy music that I personally enjoy (or that I think I would like) and sample from there.

Less often (especially when they're available for free/little cost), I buy records strictly to sample from. These could be anything that looks like it might have some cool/interesting sounds on it.

Oh, and I've never used a portable turntable. Since I mostly buy what I'm interested in, it's easy to find great records just by paying attention to the musicians on the cover/insert.

Reissues are cool, especially to get that hard-to-find (i.e. expensive) record that you really want.

I usually buy from thrift shops, so price isn't much of an issue for me ($1-$2USD per record, at the most).

word. when i go diggin i also buy records that i will enjoy and not just use for sounds. i learned my lesson, i dont have all the room and all the money in the world. i rather buy 1 DOPE 10$ record then buying 10 1$ records that just have 1 or 2 sounds on them and im never going to listen to them again.
