What do you think of the Ray Manzerek? I copped that last year and was muy unimpressed. Anyway, I digress.

My new dig is from Vintage Vinyl in Saint Louis

Africa - The Sound and Drums of a Continent
Circa 1961

Unimpressed with Manzerik What? Dude How about "Waiting for the women to begin the world again" It's been flipped by J5 and a couple of others , That song alone I could flip 6 different ways. You need to develop your sampling ear better. Maybe give the record a second listen cause that record is on the top of the Dig list for a lot of sample jockeys. Yo Dj E.D.E I'll send you that file tonight {fri} I ran out of CD's to copy it to my internet computer. Peace

Umm, just because J5 'flipped' does not make that dog shit record any better. You might watch how you make assumptions about others 'sampling ears' just because they aren't down with you and and your sample biting. That album is poorly produced, poorly arranged, poorly written and above all cheesy.

Sorry about that.

i dont have this record nor have i heard it, but i do know that this was cats from the door's band and for you to say that, i dont think you know your music thihs album was over looked in 70's prolly because there was no jim morrison.

how is it bittin to use a record that J5 or some other artist used?

inless you are doin the same song excatly as it was made then thats biting
,but if you take the sample and flip it and make it your own .i dont see that as biting.

Wow you must be some musician to dis such a killer record. The compositions on the record are pretty well written How bout "Whirling Dervish" . If you think that is sh%$t . I would love to hear your masterful work. Some of the organ sounds for the time are killer. Listen I'm not biting on anyones sample . I didn't buy the album because J5 flipped one song I bought the album cause I happen to like the mans style. I take it you don't like his other releases either ..."The golden sarab" is an awsome piece of work but you think that sux too, I bet.

How can you stand in judgement of an album that you have never heard.
A. I know who he is
B. I am a big doors fan
C. None of this has anything to do with the fact that the record sucks

Have you ever heard Robert Plant's solo work?
Have you ever heard Jimmy Page's solo work?

90% garbage IMO, depsite the fact that they are from one of the greatest bands in history.

I dare you to go buy that record... I dare you

your prolly to young to understand the music or arrpeciate it.

and yes i have jimmy and roberts solo albums and i do like them, and just bscause i dont know the music or havent heard it is no reason to say i cant stand by the judgement i claim, theres good artist in volved in the group maybe not all the songs are to your liking but same as kreftwerk they have some albums that are not thebest to listen to ,but i own them because i am a fan. and support what they do, you just have to be in the right mood to listen to music and understand what they were doin at that time .

I'm probably older than you are. What kind of person sits there and argues about something they know nothing about. In that I have actually listened to the record, I am infinitly more qualified than you to speak on this topic.

Again, I dare you to go buy that garbage album... go ahead. You'll find it for about $1 in every used record store in the country. Go get it, then talk to me... it sucks.

Did you really like the Robert Plant and Jimmy Page solo work? Really? Sounds like a dick ride to me.

Ok your Right ,This album sucks . I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to 70's music... Dispite owning over 2000 lps from the era. I'm an idiot and have no taste , so disrguard everything I said and my opinion means nothing , cause your right and you win. There feel important now , guy....Some people have nothing better to do....get off it
