some advice on non-soul records

i have been digging for early 70's soul to sample from for a while and i'm getting kind of bored. Not that i don't like the music but because I would like to start sampling from other genres. i don't really know that much about old non-soul records. i would like to get in to some 70' or 80's rock, classical, or dub reagee. what are some things to look for when i'm digging in these genres: labels, musicians, etc.

Before anyone blows me up... I'm not asking what records to get just what to look for when digging for these records. any help would be appreciated.

bands , artist, labels= RCA, CASA BLANCA,MCA. alot of the major labels there was notto many classic rock bands that put out suff on indies.

theres alot of good stuff in classic rock much of which stiill sounds like funk or blues so check shlt out like that too. im, a big classic rock fan and i have been pullin up mass shlt in the last few months , i go diggin by months some times i'll just digg for a certain genre, for the last few months i have been on a classic rock tip . and i got shlt with mass drums real nice shlt too.

try some live concert albums for chopable drum solos,solo guitar likks,
lots of solo instruments-
i dont care about keeping"secrets",cuz in my world,aint where yer from,but where yer at-so if i tell you a certain album,you may flip it in a different way than i would-providing me with good listening:):)
so-go get yerself some humble pie records and anything of led zeppelin for drumsounds-those are good starting points-oops---did i betray somebody's secret??oh-oh.....i see dust flyin..

this may sound crazy...but the beach boys are good to sample...got all sorts of melodies you can use as a backround...i been hearing alot of cats sampling them

i got a nice bass solo from the monkees. well not much of a solo, but enough to chop and use.

aint no secret man . i just didnt have the time to tell him is all, and zeplin is used up . you see dirt flyin cause you kick it up not me homie

check out some soundtracks from guys like Roy Budd and Laylo Schifrin . Theres a lot of real nice stuff start researching it. I know of a long list of cats that I dig but that should get you started. Also go on amazon and search for stuff you like then check out the other stuff they recommend .

actually-i said "dust flying" as in the dust from all the records being flipped thru rapidly to get to the records he wants-

and ledzep is only "used up" in your thinking that everyone else has used it, which is correct if looking at it from that perspective-but i was talking to a newbie at the"rock"thing,who may indeed give it a fresh take,or"flip",and if he were to have the next big smash record with it,then y'all might go crawling back to yer ledmama and re-evaluate those records-thinking they are"fresh"and "vital"-whatever....
see my point--plus the statement"sorry i can t tell what they are but trust me just go by what i'm tellin you and you can thank me later "can be flipped SO many ways,you should maybe try to calm down and not be so defensive-I seem to get mis-read a lot,but i dont bite back unless you really earn it-and if ya wanna be my homie,i'll swing by when i'm down in the bay area next fall-we can kick it,and trade stories about our great vinyl searches-but dont expect me to buy a lot at yer store,cuz i have a 2 dollar cap per record(unless you got any 4 dollar Sun Ra albums on the saturn label:):)
