lately I've been finding samples that I like but can't bring myself to use because it sounds like something that could fit someone else's style.
For example I found this record that I thought was dope but would work better for what the heatmakerz do than I. Just yesterday I found a sample that was decent but it sounded like the sound providers would do more justice to it. I like to avoid records like that and records someone else sampled like the plague.

I try to avoid things that were sampled before too. But there are things that can make me use it.

- I know I can use it differently
- It is just too perfect for whatever I'm doing that I don't care

even if i cant find a way to make a beat out of it right away, ill still cut it up. i might chop it and make it a rex file so if i'm playin around and find somethin. lately i've been tryin to add instruments to my joints so i can use the sample regardless of if it was used before

you can always hear something else in the sample. listen to the whole song.

When ever I come across idea like that (because it's not the sample) I just make the beat how I hear it even if it's not the vibe I set out to express. These type of beats usually get made very fast and then it's on to the next...

creativity fellas the great thing about sampling is that you find sounds out of the ordinary to make your music different ,

break out the box and try something new dont stick to the same old shi+, thats why hiphop is where it is now there's no creativity everyone wants to sound like so and so .
dont limit your imagination, learn to use different time sig to make music in stead of the norm 4/4

just my .2cents
