Records work for free. I pay shop owners no more than $30, no matter what.
over 70% of my best joints are dollar bin/goodwill/etc.

with me it depends on how bad i want the record. most of the time i shop the dollar bins, but always look in the more expensive bins just to see what they got.

also it depends on where you go. i was at a record shop today (copped an album for 8 bucks because i liked the art) and noticed that they had the hall and oates "abandoned luncheonette" for like 10 bucks, i bought it last year for a buck. no scratches.

i think some shop owners try to get over, depending on the neighborhood. the one i went to today had about 100 records in their 1 dollar section, and it was all 80's pop. but everything else ran for 2.25 to i think 70 bucks.

then here at the salvation army, they go for 1.85.

i found a bunch of great ike and tinas, kids albums, some hall and oates i never heard of, the color purple soundtrack, and a few other ones, .45 each. they had some 4 record sets to for 2-3 bucks. i cleaned them out.

its funny cuz their isnt a "going" price on vinyl im finding out. it goes shop by shop i think.

I don't like spending a whole lot, because a lot of the good stuff that I have comes from the $1 section.

Ive never been in the hype of dropping big money on records probaby cuz im a broke so I stay in the £0-3.00 range per records

Normally, I pay about 0.50-2.00€ per a sample record, but of course there are always exceptions.
I think the most expensive sample record I have bought this far cost 5€.

i never nnoticed what they cost i just buy it,
i'm like cozy if i want it ,i'll buy it no matter what the cost.

i shop alot in the thrifts ,and yes sometimes you can find some realy good records, but nothing beats seeing a mint conidition

we got one in my shop. but it's the stores.i could not buy that one tho...
eventually someone will come buy it. and i will be the saddest digger,

when you run a store ,you need to make money for the store .

someone said we(shop owners) try to get over, well it depends on where you go, at my shop we try to give you(the customer) the best price and best quality vinyl, beleive me we dont make a hole lot of money.
we just did our taxes and we lost out more then what we have made or will make in a year.

i say if your a real digger there should not be a price limit but thats me,

i pay 10 cents up to what ever i want to pay for a record!!!

yeah there are a few records I'll pay forty or fifty bucks for no problem, just because that would mean I'd never have to look for them again... time is money, but money can't buy me more time...

a record's worth is variable...depends on how long i've been looking for it, how good the condition is, how close it is to payday, what the weather is, my mood...all sorts of things...

I do try and get stuff in good condition, though...

the most i ever paid for one record was $20 before tax...and that was when i was relatively inexperienced in finding good ish for cheap

i rarely spend more than $1.99 on a sampling record. when im diggin for loops i seldom leave the bargain bin because i ALWAYS find somethin...always

when i'm in my "collector" mode, tho...i may spend $10 on a record just because i've been looking for it for a while.

on another note....i refuse to spend more than $20 on any one record...period

I feel you on this. Reasoning being is because we are also collectors rather than just looking for stuff to sample from. Actually, I have two collections. One consist of about 8 crates of gems, neatly arrange, all in their protective plastics. The other collection is more a pile of about 3 crates that consist mainly of sample fodder. Records in this section come and go. Occasionally, one will get promoted to the gem section.
