Practise looping, chopping and making it fit

Hi,

I'm kind of new to sampling. I always thought that I have to make up my own melodies. Last weekend I picked up some old funk records from the fleemarket and was amazed how ruff it sounds if you sample stuff. Unfortunately I could not find anything easy to loop which brings me to my question. Can anyone give me a track and artist name to practise sampling. It could be something already sampled by a famous artist even the biggest hit from a popular artist would be fine as I only use it to practise. I know that I should sit down and look for good samples on my records but I'm a bit impatient and want to start practising right away...

if youre looking for something to loop, Teddy Pendergrass - "Close The Door" would be easy to start with

get a machine with auto chop and take it from there....

Search on youtube for pete rock and mpc or something...

First thing I tried to sample just to get the hang of it was impeach the president...How's that for originality?
