Digging in the big smoke (London!!)

hey i'm planning on going to London and doing a bit of digging. What places would u recommend i start?

Also what are London prices like? I'm used to up Manchester prices so what am i gonna be expecting? If it helps i'm usually after late 60s and 70s jazz, funk and stuff like Polish/Czech jazz.

D'Arblay Street and Berwick street, if i remember from the last time i went to london has a load of record shops, i picked up a bunch of stuff from down there

Lived in London for one year and did a lot of digging. The retailers are assholes (at least that's what they came across as to me) but they got nice records.

I'm not very good on street names but I remember that Berwick street has records stores and I don't know if i's Berwick street or some other street, but there is one street in Soho which has like 4 record stores. It's in the area where all the porn shops are. I used to go there all the time (to the record stores):)

In London they have this chain of record stores called Record exchange or something. One is on Berwick street, I think. Then they got on in West London by the Notting Hill Gate tube station and one in North London, in Camden Town. So, if you're not happy with what you've seen in Soho, you can check those places out.

I would say that the prices are more expensive than for instance in Sweden, where I lived before. But I don't know, I'm not really good on values on records and stuff like that...

Haha. Missunderstood the above sentence. Thought you were from the Nordic countries or something but saw that you're not.

Mate, head to my local spots in North Londinium - Angel to be exact. Go to Disque on Chapel Mkt (about 5mins walk from Angel tube) for a good variety of sh!t, then head on over to Haggle on Essex Rd (there's an old guy in there who gives everybody gyp when they ask to listen to sh!t - but they've got some mad records in there, some proper rare cuts!).
