ok, so i just moved out here to arizona from northern cali and i can't find any good record shops out here! i'm from oakland originally and as we all know, the bay area is like dj mecca so acquiring vinyl out there is no problem at all. but out here in phoenix az, it's a different story! trying to find a record shop out here is like looking for dairy farm in brooklyn nyc! can any body help a fellow beatsmith out? any body know of any places where i can find records (except for zia in tempe and chandler coz i already raided those spots!!) for cheap? can any one recomend any good record shops? any body....any body....any body?? your help would be greatly appreciated!

PDQ is closed. I knew the owner, he sold all of his expensive vinyl on ebay years ago and never had any customers in store. Its a shame, i loved that place.

Also, twist and shout records in Tucson is closed.

Man... Memory Lane and PDQ... Z-Trip and I used to camp out in those stores when I lived in Phoenix back in '90 - '94. I came up with stacks of mint conditioned promo Prelude, SalSoul, West End, Motown, Vanguard disco LPs and 12"s, Hip Hop acapellas & instrumentals and House Music 12"s.
Good times... good times...

yeah, besides thift stores these are pretty much it.... it should be said that revolver is by far the best on this list....

Zia and half price books are pretty hit and miss and usually waaaay overpriced. you can catch them slippin sometimes tho.

Stinkweeds is pretty much only new vinyl too, btw (right? i haven't been there in a minute)

Theres also a new shop that just opened in old town scottsdale. ive only been there once and it was reeaally small and mostly doo wop reissues and punk shit. some decent rock though and i scooped that Soul Mann & the brothers "shaft" joint for like 2 bucks which is decent

but yeah phoenix kinda sucks for records
