How much does a record go down in value when there's no cover but record is still in perfect condition?

By the way I'm talking pretty hard to find records here that go for 30/50+ €...Not 1$ joints.

i've always been told a cover is just as important as the record but i'm by no means a collector or anything.

Lol...

Yeah well, it's a six volume set that I have so I have the whole set, only no covers unfortunately. Just wondering if people that work in or own record stores had to say about this. The records (with covers) go for at least 50€. They're some french library type of records.

You might think my question is stupid but I was just wondering. It's not like I'm gonna sell them or anything.

^^

That's like
a brand new Ferrari with a 15 yr old Toyota Celica engine.
a 1/2 mil platinum medallion with CZ's and bubble gum machine stones
a bad dime chick with a case of crabs (or worse)
asking "what's the cover worth without the record"

Think of a dope record (ie: Hanged Man strk) in a generic black sleeve. I think for a collector, part of the mystique is condition/originality of jacket/record together. You can have a good album that's perfect but if it's in a generic sleeve, and not the original sleeve with artwork/credits...eh....not as bad (but just as iffy) as a dope record that's warped with numerous scratches and beat to sh*t in a pristine original jacket.

most collectors collect for the cover so i would tell you it aint worth much, but theres people like me that collect for the music and the cover is a plus,

but i dont pay for a record that dont have a cover when i purchase for the store , cause it harder to sell.

you wont beleive how much the cover actually makes a diffence,
if you look at record guides theres books just for covers that give details, so if you have a 6set of vinyl and no cover it aint worth much with out the cover .

THE COVER IS A PLUS AND VERY IMPORTANT.
