? for the diggers... the band

hey all,

just wondering if you all can drop some track names for artist's that have
sampled 'the band'...

i've been listening to these guys a heap lately (particularly 'music from big
pink' and 'rock of ages') and there's some tracks i want to pull a few
samples off - but it's always depressing when someone listens to your
chops and just goes 'hey so-and-so used that same sample... he
sliced it nicer though...'

so i thought i'd tap into the brainstrust and see if you guys know any tracks
with 'the band' samples on em... i haven't heard any, so just thought i'd ask
the older heads who know their shyt.

YEAH THe BAND HAS BEEN SAMPLED A COUPLE of times prolly the mist noticable being the GANG STARR JOINT......................

IN 91' Gang Starr Sampled the Drums n Bass from "Up on Cripple Creek" and used it on "Beyond Comprehension". "Off STEP IN THE ARENA"

music from big pink is a HUGE album. not really too well known but its on alot of critics top 100 albums of all time. its amazing americana-type music. i cannot stand alot of bands who try to pull of their sound, but ill ride all day for music from big pink. its the best get your heart broken, drinking, loner music EVAARR! check out 'lonesome susie' dude who wrote and sings this killed himself, youy can hear some of his turmoil in the vocals of this song for sure. my #1 rock (even though its more americana than hard rockin) album evar.

word - i feel that... but i'd like to listen to some other tracks first, just to see...

@ incurablebeatlust - yeah it's pretty dope album hey! my new housemate
is a rock and roll drummer, so he's been playing all the old school rock shyt,
which is so sweet... i've had my head in hip hop and dub for too long! nice
to check out some different stuff again, especially some classics

its an album that has a great sense of continuity. almost perfect on that aspect.
