Operation Doomsday: worth picking up?

Was at the record store yesterday and saw a copy of MF Doom's OOP Operation Doomsday 2xLP for $25. I see it's selling for more than that on ebay...think it's worth picking up for that price?

i dont know the music or artist but , 25 bucks thats what you'lll pay for a beastie boy's album from a few yrs back,and there on a double lp.
most likely it's pressed on 180gram vinyl.

I DID THIS ONCE WITH A CAMEO RIGAMORTIS RECORD , I COULD DAMN NEAR KICK MYSELF IN THE ASS SO HARD FOR DOIN THAT, I HAVENT FOUND IT SINCE, I PUT IT DOWN TO COME BACK TO IT WHEN I CAME BACK SOME DUDE WAS LISTENING TO IT TO BUY IT.

Haha. Yeah it kind of sucks, but its not that big of a deal. I wasn't completely sure that it was the out-of-print Doom record yesterday, so dropping $25 without further investigation didn't really make sense to me. It would have been worse to buy it and find out I could have paid $10 or something on ebay.
As far as out-of-print records go, I'd obviously rather have an actual copy, but I'll probably just download it instead of paying $50 or something on ebay. Doom isn't going to make any money on me overpaying for an out-of-print record, and if it's reissued I'll pick up a copy then.
If you can't find an OOP record, why not download it (assuming you can find it), chop your sample, and mix the sound with some static from the start of anoter record? You obviously can't scratch on it, and I'll admit that using a digital copy isn't nearly as fun as having the LP, but it probably won't sound THAT much different in your final track and you'll save yourself some $$.

I never said that the only difference between vinyl and digital media is the static. I agree that vinyl sounds different, but I think you're romanticizing a bit.
Sampling static is obviously not the only thing you can do to warm up a digital sample. You can also run it hot to cassette/reel tape, use EQ, run it through a 12-bit sampler at 20-30khz, or even go through an overdrive stompbox with light distortion. It won't sound exactly like vinyl, but you can kind of get that vibe and it will sound cool...and you get to be a little creative.
Adding a little dirt to a sample will make it sound close enought that, for me, it's not worth spending $50+ on one record when I could buy 50 records for the same amount.
Analog recordings (using Ampex reel machines, Neve consoles, etc.) sound better than digital recordings to most people too, but how many of you use a computer because of budget concerns and convenience?
