I'm trying to find a way to store about 500 45's in my small studio. My mom used to be a spin records at a radio station back in the 70's so I got a nice collection. Looking for ideas on how to store them all.

i use these boxes, you can find them at you rlocal 711 just ask them for them they should give them to you,
and also i those little 45 record boxes anytime i see one i buy it with or without records,
i like to use these boxes cause you can close the tops on them so your disc dont get dusty plus they are easy for stacking,
i need to find a way to rack them so it easier to dig thru them,
i got about 2000 45'sImage

Here's a great solution I stumbled upon from an old comic book collection I had—comic book longboxes:

If there's a comic store in your area they'll usually have these cardboard boxes in stock at a good price. They're just the right width for a 45 and I'm guessing you can fit 250-300 per box.

While I bought mine at a local store, here's the type of box I'm talking about (I've never used this store):

Ten boxes for $25 doesn't look like a bad deal, but ten boxes might be overkill—if you can find a local store you can usually buy one box for a couple of dollars.

Because these boxes were made to hold comic books, there's a little extra space between the top of the 45 and the box, and I've used the space to help categorize my records by label:

The boxes stack well, keep your vinyl clean, and if you make your own labels, help you stay organized. (BTW, these come with lids, too)

Thanks for all the ideas. I just have them inside a big costco box and milk box right now. I might go for those comic book ones so they stack.
