Yo so ok i understand fully why some heads pay the stax of greenback's for stax of great wax...but then agian i try to be well like my upbringing into hiphop society (i dont believe its a culture.. im just not into post-modernism or relativism) my old crews of graffitibombing we never bought the good stuff rusto or krylon no phat caps just old oven cleaner tips and hairspay nozzles (the original aqau net pieces for dope peices) i mean i bomb people! TFO !taking fame out! id go over your dope peice to let you know your still a graff head! and that well its graffiti not mozart art! (not to say its not some of the most beatiful stuff out there in the art world) but yo ima buy scratched up records and warp ones too! for the minumum no paying 10 bucks for a record thats a bit flaw to me kinda "cheep diggin" to a guy that is cheep so why pay 150 for a orignal Diamond D or 65 for a old Black Bryds album???? does anybody agree? any other input to this issue ....buy the way i dont put my music out for the money or even the "yeah your good or thats dope kid" "no clout i just spin a tune and take it from there and leave it pumping with words in the air headphones on so long it mats down your hair and old heads stare when i jive and move my hands like there are turntables there!" no problem with you heads paying big bucks for records...i got some i will let go at anytime for some of that green!!! let me know

i guess you started doin all this on your own? what you claim to be not a culture you sure do the things that are the foundations of the culture,

as far as paying alot for records,well that's what seprates, a beginnner from a advanced/expirence digger or record collector.

obviously if you pay to much for your records then you need to dig deeper
i only pick up warped or really scratchy records when they are rare and i have not seen them and this is not to often that i will pick these up.

I can understand doing stuff on the cheap if need be but if ya see a piece wax that made ya flippin day from way back its gonna be worth more than a new track.
+ I saw a graf wall in Rennes,france that hadn't bombed since the day it was done (about 10-15yrs) outta respect for the crews. Some stuff ya just deserves respect

half the kids in my middle school used to tag up the bathrooms w/random bull shyt, they weren't graffiti artists..more like insipid little wannabes, lacking any knowledge whatsoever on the true art form of graffiti..cats sit down and watch style wars once and think they know everything

yeah i know seems like it sounds or does it? and bombing? was a past time, as is a lot these days....and if you do graf then you will not get a more FAT tip cap then old oven cleaners!!! but i was merely stating the fact about people needing to buy the "most rare albums" for ludicrous prices i was getting at "digging deeper" or getting a little broader in one's own outreach to the scooping of dope wax.....

I think a lot of the time the hip hop 'culture' gets so caught up in its own bullshit its ridiculous. when youre paying $100 for a record youre doing nothing for hip hop or even the original artist, youre just making some record collector richer. The originators of hip hop not only lifted samples (pretty much whole songs, back in those days) from other music, they even used power from streetlights to run their PA systems. I think making a track with pirated software and illegally downloaded mp3 samples is closer to the original spirit of hip hop than paying big money for a record. The whole digging in the crates thing doesnt even make sense anymore; the only reason Pete Rock, DJ Shadow etc sampled all those great records is because they didnt cost $50 or $100 back then. but hey, its your money.

some people dont dig or collect records to be true to or be "hiphop" itself... there are numerous reasons people dig, and i myself have numerous reasons just myself as to why i dig and collect lps.... i may pay 20-30 bucks for a record that i already know is heat... but imo "digging" is something a bit different from copping a record that you are already up on... i also dont consider spending $20-$100 or more on a record to be "digging", i consider that to be paying some else to "dig"...
