i was lookin thru my records collection today and noticed that most of the sleeves are warped or somethin. its like the opening where you pull the record out of is in an oval shape and i dunno how the **** that happened. i remember it being hot in my room last night, but the thermostat was on 74 so thats not too extreme. i have like i guess 40 records per crate, so they arent leaning on each other too much...

for those that have a lot of experience with records, what could of caused this to happen... i mean, i dont have that big of a collection and i dont have the rarest schit, but i like my stuff to be nice... like my madlib beat konductas that i bought brand crispy new and now they have big fvckin ovals in the slot where the record comes out

are the records warped? ....

are they close to the heater?......

are they packed tightly?......

dont leave your records stored w the opening on the top....

is ther plastic still onthe cover? if do maybe they just shrinked up ,you may be liucky if there not wapred.

dont stack like pancakes!!!
stack them like files up and down with the opening to the side and flip the sleeve in side so the vinyl dont fall out!!!

other than that i dont know what else to say but keep them away from HEAT.

Heat and vinyl mixes perfectly into one, big, beautiful black mess.

haha yea thanks yall... but the vinyl is fine, its jus the covers are warped outward so theres a big oval shape where the record comes out instead of a small rectangle... its not that big of a deal but i just was wonder why that happened so it wont happen anymore

can you snap a shot of then ...i dont think i quite understand then.?

sounds to me like HUMIDITY got to them...

your covers will absorb ambient moisture and release that moisture again and become dry over and over repeatedly and this is what flowers your covers up in this manner... if you have your records in the crates tight and the covers are "warped" in this manner, it could apply pressure to your records and start to "warp" them too...

my advice is to keep them in a room that is relatively dry and the relative humidity doesnt fluxuate too much... i started to get this problem last year and caught it pretty quicklike, within less than one day, then i had to change the room i kept my records in... some of the covers you can still tell...
