Hey yaw, im lookin to find some new fresh samples, specifically strings and horns. Ive kinda exhausted my james brown records LOL. Any suggestions? Peace

try classical or symphony...Herb Albert has some nice horns ,Deodato , funkadelic,Basie,Armstrong,Miles

think outside the box....try different kinds of music besides funk and soul,

listen to the jazz station KCSM 91.1 they got some good jazz music there,they give a rundown of what label and year the artist is from ,most of the time.

I found some dope horns and strings on some pretty random records - Disney Soundtracks, TV theme tunes etc. Just go digging and don't limit yourself to any particular genre.

I've even resorted to sampling Brian Eno, Throbbing Gristle, Alvin & The Chipmunks etc just for something different........be prepared to get dusty in them crates!

the "out of africa" OST, that cheesy flick from the mid 80's, I found in a dollar bin, lots of open strings

alright there mate

thought i`d let u in on this little beauty!
its made by philharmonic orchestra for the sole purpose of free downloads!

all theese samples are free to hear/download and are free to use in music or tv and are fully legal , virus free and royalty free.

so go enjoy.

cant remember if they are in correct sample rate but i`m sure u know how to convert to standard 16 bit 44000 etc.

I've known about this site for maybe about a year now, it's REALLY good site, and proves that digital digging is a monster in it's own right, for the naysayers ya know....

the university of iowa did a similar thing as the philharmonic in posting up samples of instruments from their orchestra you can get those HERE:http://theremin.music.uiowa.edu/MIS.html
