WHAT DO YOU GUYS DO??? SUGGEST ANYTHING??

So when you guys are diggin, and find great voice samples, horns, 808s, snares, hi hats, guitars, anything, do you guys save them onto a zip? or cd-r? basically, im trying to ask, how do you save them. Do you just save them to random disc? Whats the most organized way? Cuz i rock wit the 2000XL, and the zip disc is a pain b'cuz my lap top doesnt even have a zip drive, so would you suggest anything?? THANKS!

start creating a library of samples/sounds. Make up a disk with 808 kicks, another w/ snares/hihats etc.etc.

i listen to records,sample them,make libraries in an hd in my pc with files such as:chopped samples,extended samples,loops,drums..."and then i listen to them until i find the best combination.that works fine with me man..

make folders in the zip disc, you can put quite a few folders with alot of sounds in there.

i just create a folder for the song i'm working on and then when i need it i come back to it,every time i turn on my mpc i just sample new sounds dont matter if i have used it before , i like the sound of NOW, what i'm hearing at that moment,so if i got a record that i'm feeelin and theres something on it that i want i sample it and save it to a song folder....or i also have a folder that has just sounds, kits, stabs, hit's , whatever..


in the 8 yrs that i have had my 2kxl i have about 4-5 zips disc that i have songs ,kits ,and samples on.

use the open window key when your in the zip drive to open other windows and make your folders.


THE MAIN THING IS TO NAME YOUR SAMPLES OR YOU WILL DEF BE SCREWED!!!
