Going on a nice dig tomorrow..need some advice

I'm going on a dig at Amoeba Records tomorrow...and just wanted to get a little advice. I'm looking for instrumentation records that are instrument specific with no other accompaniment what so ever. For example, vinyl with just drums no instruments or just trumpet with no other instrumentation at all. This kind of stuff is the main focus of my dig tomorrow along with some Jazz records....I'm also open to picking up anything else that's dope. My question for you guys is this: Can anyone recommend any particular record labels or artist that I should pay special attention to?I know Blue Note is a great label for jazz. Are there any good drummers I should keep in mind? ....anyway thanks for the help.

you should prolly not go to a major record store. prices are gunna be higher and they are prolly gunna have a sh1tload of blue note, impulse, etc (never been there), and its not like there is a guaranteed dope sample on a record just cuz of the label

Wuz up Upright, just wanted to say thanks for all the knowledge you've shared over the forum. I dont really have a direct answer for you but I do know of a really great Jazz record shop in Oakland. Sorry, I know its not in your area, but who knows you might find yourself in the bay some time. Oakland has the sickest, all wax jazz shop. Exclusively Jazz and exclusively records. Its called the Groove Yard. I've been turned on to so much new music I would have never had the opportunity to check out (as w/ all good shops) a diggers paradise. Just wanted to throw that at cha.

Yo K,... Thanks for the love. I talked to some for the guys that worked at Amoeba and they were really informative, so with their help I was able to get some awesome jazz records. Most of the Blue note stuff was expensive, but I was able to get one double Blue note album for $3.99!! Their dollar bins were packed with all perfect condition stuff (although I didn't spend to much time in the dollar bins). I'll post a list of everything I picked up a little later.

Oh man! Your shop looks SO sick. Haha i googled it and found your myspace and i saw some pictures man i want to go there so badly looks like an awesome place. I live in Irvine but im seriously thinking about making the trip

^^Yeah I feel you there.....looking dope Dj e.d.e!! I love the photo of your son gettin his dig on in the crates!! BTW are you recording your stuff to tape?...Looks like it from the pics plus it sounds really warm.
