Man this is ****ed up...I've had 11 rap records (singles, one LP) leaning against the wall, floor level right behind my computer desk chair for about a month. Today, I went to grab one of them and it was stuck to the adjacent record cover to the point where the cardboard ripped-I was like "wtf...?"
Further examination revealed the truth.
******* cat piss.
You'd think that only the first record would get hit but no...the cat must've came at it from the side cuz every ****in record took substantial damage. Like the bottom right corner to about the bottom middle of each record, with 1 to 2 inch height stains. Reeks like hell, I had to throw out every cover and paper sleeve. Suprisingly, the records in the ones with the cardboard covers/paper sleeves don't smell at all, and you can't even tell that they were urinated on, but it's probably in the damn grooves...Some were forunate enough to have plastic covers/sleeves.
ish is maddening. At least I've already recorded most of these records but still, how random is that?! I've already lost a bunch of magazines n such to these bastards (including some Scratch mags >: | ), now they're comming for my records? We have two cats, I dunno which one is responsible...
so basically...
Keep your records out of their reach or keep them in some kind of thick or plastic packaging.
On the bright side of things I copped some videogame/anime soundtracks the other day for sampling purposes. There's some wild stuff on these things; I'm hittin up an anime/game convention tommorow to pick up some more. Here's one I just made today sampling the ps2 cult classic Ico...it's called 'beat 55' for now since the original loop was at 55BPM (stretched and pitched up to 79)
