I never bought completely wack shit, no sound of music or Klaus Wunderlich garbage. I got inspired by my mums collection of disco, reggae and soul. Man i bought some wierd crap when i started though, but i suppose you need to buy wack shit to know not to buy it.

My wack records are in my wack stash somewhere or i threw em out and put em back in the charity shop (if i can be assed).

If you're wack sh*t isn't worth nothing then you could make a nice clock with a them or even hang em on somewhere as decoration!

ever notice people like to go through your records and talk shit? I have another bin for records i wont own up to. and the best samples come from that bin.

i just put them in the stash...

who knows.. u might run into that "wack" record couple months later and find something... u know?

its all in how the creative juices are flowing.... personally more then 90% of ALL records have sounds on them... form a little hi-hat to a single bass hit or a background sound of some street or planes flying by...

there is ALWAYS something u chop, loop, filter or put FX on and use it.

EVERY record has a sound or two that u can use if u put in work and mind to it.

and if the record is just in a bad condition... then i just paint it or spray a stencil on it and hand it on my wall.. lol

just give them back to the thrift store,DON'T THROW VINYL AWAY unless it's scratched really bad to where you can't play them anymore.
or they're records you dont want and can't sell give them back to the thrift store remeber vinyl day is August 12

I give them to Goodwill (thrift store) or to producer friends. If someone else can use them, I don't consider them trash, which is why I won't put them there.

Oh, we've made a bunch of these too.

They make great ashtrays too. Just put a record on top of a bowl in the oven for like 10 minutes or less.

First try to sell it, otherwise make sure there's NOTHING on them. If this is the case you can still use them to divide/categorize your records by pulling out the record about 4 inches out of the jacket and glueng it there. On the part of the record that's popping out you can right with something like Liquid Paper (i.e. "Soul" or "B" and that way you don't have to buy those expensive record dividers. If you don't like that one jyst grab the jackets and staple 2x4 inch pice of cardboard (possibly cut from another wak record) and staple it to one of the edges. This will allow you to divide sections and all.

Beat me to it.

Haha, diggers know!

Apparently he's a big time digger and never bought any wack shit.
Even the biggest or most knowledgeable diggers in the world make or have made mistakes. You can't know everything and given his comments on Klaus Wunderlich he's just proven that he lacks knowledge and has slept on about 2 breaks and tons of samples that have even been used by big time producers that he probably claims he loves(i.e. Jay Dee).
This is hilarious.

If it's summer and a sunny day put them out on a sidewalk...someone will take it.

Nothing better then walking down the street and finding a crate of records to dig through for free.

I think sarcasm is difficult to convey unless spoken.

What's hilarious? me having an opinion? errrm and i said i love Jay Dee? I'm not a big fan at all actually. Feel some tracks but meh...never got into him and i don't get all the obsessives.

Digging for me isn't about finding samples and breaks!! F*ck finding samples. I've learned that if you go out digging for samples and breaks you miss out on all the good stuff.

Sampling a record i love makes sense to me. Buying records just for the drum breaks on them and just because they're the only worthy records in the charity shop is a waste of record space and money for me, i'd rather go to a REAL record store or go to another charity shop and test my luck. I don't want a drum break and then a record full of stuff i just don't feel.

I buy music for the love and i'm prepared to spend money on it if i want it (not too much!). Finding a break is just a small bonus. I want records that i can listen to all way through and enjoy. I don't want to buy something i don't like just for just a few seconds of break.

Whenever have i said i'm a big time digger? Whenever have i said i'm the best? I know i'm not the best and i'll admit, but I don't dig to earn some stupid stripes. I'll buy Spice Girls if i wanted to and i wouldn't give a shite about anyone. You could say that i lack knowledge but honestly i don't care because i have my own individual taste.
I couldn't give a toss what Dilla, Primo or what even Shadow uses because i buy records for the love.

Charity shop stuff just isn't good enough in my opinion. I don't care what any of ya'll think. Yeah there are diamonds in the rough, but my honest opinion is that digging in the UK is weak, yes some may say london is great but London isn't all of the UK.
