Dirty Scratches

I was wondering does a old amp effect the sound quality that comes from a turntable durring scratching? because I am not rich and my set up is a stanton st8-60, vestax pmc pro 3, some old living room stereo amp cant tell you the exact brand sorry im not at home, all hooked up to a pair of pioneer living room speakers. Do I need monitors? or a new updated amp? cuz i know its not my mixer or turntable by the way i have shure M44-7 so I need to know why does my scratching even the simplest flarez and transform cuts sound...i dunno i guess the right word is "undeveloped" its just not clean and smooth accurate cuts and if anyone on here says its because my cuts are wack i will slap them lol juss playin but for real anything back will be appreciated lates!

ok first of all I have a vestax pmc 05 pro 3 like I mentioned before and for those who do not know shit about mixers you can't scratch through head phones with that mixer because you can't use the main fader you have to use a mini cross fader that is not capable of complex scratches. please only for those who know what the **** they are doing drop a note I don't need worthless feeds.

you should just listen to your headphones while scrathing, and for those who dont know shit about there mixers, just switch the "monitor select" from cue to master

i have that same mixer ,

1 are you using an effects on it? take the effects off. ..... you can scratch on that mixer in the headphones, learn to use the que, learn to use the fader curve.

2 turn down your bass when scratching, watch the DIY video by qbert you can learn alot.

3 it can possibly be your speakers , the coil may be to loose and with you scratching with the bass up your killing them more.it ussually happens when your using house speakers, get some monitors

4 make sure your stuff is hooked up right,wires,check the levels of your eq on your amp if it has one set it to flat...you get a better sound while your learning to scratch.

5 your needles, how old are they and make sure they are not collecting a lot of dust, use the brush that came with it to clean them up. or just get another pair of needles,

6 make sure your scratching from the start point of the sample and not the middle it will sound slopppy if you scratch from the middle of the sample. and yes it your scratching then that's not on point.

finally some answers thanks e.d.e some of that info helped..yeah its prolly my speakers..ive been lazy to get get some JBL's or some monitors actually i know its not the effects cuz i have the pro 2'z not the pro 3'z i did a typo,i have the older one but thanks anyways.

who's RICH? only cause one saves up for a better quality mixer doesnt make someone RICH, part of having SKILLZ is knowing you have a good sound. people want quality then you have to step it up ,RIGHT?
